Change Your Oil
One of the most important elements you must be aware of if you want to keep your car and engine in a perfect working condition is to regularly change the oil.
Oil plays a very important part in the well functioning of your engine, as it is used to lubricate all the moving elements. Your engine will run cleaner if you take care of it and change the oil when it gets older. With time, due to the conditions the motor runs, the oil will get dirty and will lose its initial properties, and will not protect your engine parts efficiently. Do not forget to always change the oil filter when you change the oil itself, because if not, the fresh oil will get contaminated from start with dirt and particles from the old fluid. Fresh oil makes no difference if the filter is clogged.
It is recommended to change the engine oil after each 3000 miles. For some cars, this number can be doubled. Consult the car’s owner’s manual and check the producer’s recommendations. Most producers will have mentioned two different intervals for changing the oil. One is for people who use the car in light conditions, while the other, shorter, is for those who operate their vehicles in difficult conditions (extreme temperatures, in dusty or in very crowded areas).
Check that the car is in park and the emergency brake is pulled before getting to change the oil. Remember; take every safety measures before starting working. You might also ask someone to assist in with the process.
Here the steps you must follow to change your oil.
First, loosen the drain plug. Just loosen it and do not remove it.
Next, grab the drain pan and fix it under the drain plug and let the old oil drain itself in the pan.
The next step is to change the oil filter. You might find it a challenge to loosen the old one, but in the end it will loosen and come off. Be advised that it will still have oil in its pipes and be careful not to stain yourself.
When all the oil has drained from the car, rearrange the drain plug in inverse order.
Now it is time to install the new filter. To install it easily, lubricate its threads and the sealing rubber with new oil and screw it into position.
After removing the engine oil cap, grab the new oil canister and pour it through the funnel into the motor.
Do not overfill. Read in the manual the amount of oil you will have to pour.
Before starting the engine, take one last look to be sure that no oil is leaking.
Do not drive your car just now. Let it with the engine running for a couple of minutes so the new oil will start lubricating the motor. Also, check that no oil leaks appear.
Verify the amount of oil you added by looking at the oil dip stick while engine is cold
In the end, do not dump the used oil in the drains. It can be reused part of the recycling programs. and remember, before you start working on your car; always consult the owner’s manual.
America’s Sports Car: The Chevrolet Corvette
One of the most classic American sports cars is the Chevrolet Corvette, which was first introduced in 1953. It was the first completely American sports car built by an American car company, which is why it is often referred to as “America’s Sports Car“.

Today, Corvettes are manufactured in the city of Bowling Green, Kentucky, where they are created with great care. Though the main complaint with the car was its handling, Corvettes’ handling has been continually improved to be on a par with popular European sports cars. However, they still remain relatively affordable, which is perhaps another one of the reasons why they continue to be such popular sports cars.
Corvettes are also created to be far simpler than the technical sports cars seen in Europe, which is one of the reasons they are cheaper. Due to their simplicity, Corvettes tend to be smaller and weigh less than sports cars manufactured abroad. The famous car designer Harley Earl was the person who originally designed the beloved Chevrolet sports car. He noticed that soldiers after the Second World War were bringing back European sports cars and that America didn’t really have one. At the 1953 Motorama car show, the Corvette that Earl designed was finally unveiled to the shocked public.
The body of the car was originally made with fiberglass, which was brand new at the time. The performance of the car was similar to other Chevrolets produced at the time, but when Chevrolet released it with the first V8 engine in 1955, it became more powerful and therefore quite popular.
Since it was first introduced, there have been six different generations of Corvettes. The first version of the Corvette had about 290 horsepower and a relatively new fuel injection system. There were several options available to it, including power windows and a convertible top. The second version of the Corvette is also quite important as it was known as the Corvette Sting Ray and had four-wheel disc brakes. There are only five of these coveted models left in existence.
The third version had the oddest introduction of the entire group, as it was shown to the public through Mattel’s Hot Wheels line, which had been released a few weeks before the actual car was meant to be shown. The fourth generation was praised for its aerodynamic design, which was uncommon at the time. The fifth generation celebrated the Corvette’s fiftieth anniversary, but also improved the car’s power in nearly every area. The sixth generation Corvette was recently released and has focused on improving the power of the car, rather than creating a new look.
Even though the Corvette name has been around for over fifty years, it continues to be noteworthy to automobile enthusiasts. In 1984 and 1998, it won Motor Trend’s Car of the Year and has appeared on dozens of Ten Best Car lists. The car truly is a piece of automobile history. In fact, the oldest Corvette in existence recently sold at an auction at the price of one million US dollars. The classic American sports car truly is the Chevrolet Corvette, which is why it has been able to survive and remain popular for over half a century.

After you buy your car, but before you run out and sign up for car insurance, it is a good idea to learn how car insurance works. Knowing how the insurance works is the best way to make sure that you get the car insurance that is right for you. After all, you don’t want to pay too much for a bunch of things you might not need, right?
There are a variety of different coverages that are involved in insuring your car: liability, collision, comprehensive, medical coverage, personal injury protection, uninsured motorist, under insured motorist and rental reimbursement.
Different states have different requirements, so make sure that you know which types of coverage are required by your state. Most states require at least liability coverage, but it varies from there. Often, insurance companies will combine a lot of these different kinds of coverage.
It is also important to note that it might not be the best idea to go with the minimum insurance required by your state. You never know what might happen on the road and the last thing you want is to end up with hundreds of thousands of dollars in bills because you skimped on your auto insurance. This isn’t to say that you should buy tornado insurance in Hawaii, but think about what you might encounter on the road, and what you want to have covered.
For example, if you are in an accident and cannot drive your car, would you like to have a rental car provided by your insurance company? Do you want extra warranties for labor and parts in the event that your car breaks down? If you have leased your vehicle, you will want to invest in gap insurance. This is insurance that will pay the difference between what you still owe on the lease and what your car insurance covers in the event that the car gets totaled.
Think about the car you just bought. If it got completely totaled, could you afford to get it replaced? If you can’t, you will probably want to get collision and comprehensive coverage in your car insurance. Depending on how much your car is worth, it might even be worth the extra money to make sure that your car gets replaced in the event of a serious accident.
You should also look at your health insurance and homeowners insurance to see what kinds of coverage include damages involving a vehicle. Sometimes you will already be covered for something that you might have been tempted to add to your car insurance.
The best way to decide what kind of car insurance to get is to look at what kind of car you have, your budget and your environment. You will obviously want to have more inclusive insurance if you live in a crowded area where thefts and accidents are common. You might be able to get away with less if you have a less expensive car or you live in a low crime, low accident part of the country.
Cheap Teen Auto Insurance
One of the most common desires of teenagers is acquiring his or her own car. And when they truly deserve it, they do get one. Of course, before you can allow your son or daughter to drive on their own, they must first meet the required age to secure a license. In most cases, being able to secure a license means one thing for teenagers - freedom!
Once you’ve got your teens their cars, the next thing that you must think about is car insurance. One of the first and most important considerations is the price of the insurance premium. Most insurers charge higher premiums for auto insurance for teenagers. This is because these companies see most teen drivers as being more reckless and accident-prone than adults.
Fortunately, there are ways in which you can lessen the charges for your teenager’s car insurance. These factors might help you get a better deal in the future.
1. A spotless driving record. It is essential that you emphasize the importance of observing traffic laws and of having a clean driving record to your teenager. This means that they should avoid speeding tickets and other such traffic violations at all costs. And, while accidents do happen, being more aware can minimize the incidence of one happening. A clean driving record will be awarded with lower premium payments.
2. Look for auto insurance with a greater deductible. The premium payment is usually less for auto insurance that covers a higher deductible.
3. A car endowed with more safety features. It would be more beneficial to get your child a car that has a lot of advanced safety features. Avoid vehicles that fall under the higher hazard ranking class.
4. Follow license restrictions. Teenage drivers need to stick to the restrictions and guidelines that their licenses specify.
5. Get a stand-alone policy. With this kind of policy, your child will be responsible for his own insurance. As a new driver, he will only be allowed daylight driving, a certificate from a driving school, and the like.
As a parent, the most appropriate thing for you to do is to inculcate the value of responsibility in them. Make them accountable for whatever happens to their car. They can even work part-time so that they can pay for one-half of their premium.

California Auto Insurance - The Complete Lowdown
How many times each week do you get in your car? Twenty? Thirty? Or maybe you’re driving to work and to run errands, and you’re shuttling your kids from activity to activity. Forty times? Fifty? With gas costs rising, you’re probably paying more attention to your driving habits. But how long has it been since you thought about your car insurance?
Every state in the United States requires that licensed drivers carry auto insurance, and California is no difference. California auto insurance laws are similar to laws in other states. The minimum level of auto insurance in CA is called “liability insurance.”
Liability auto insurance in CA must meet the following statutory minimum limits: it must cover bodily injury of one person in one accident up to $15,000; it must cover bodily injury of every person in one accident up to $30,000; and it must cover property damage up to $5,000 for any one accident. It is crucial to note that this is the absolute minimum level of coverage - and that it is required by law.
Every driver must carry proof of insurance at all times. This is done for your safety and for the safety of others. It ensures that, in the event of an accident, both parties will be able to trade accurate information and resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
California requires that you carry proof of auto insurance. Failing to have this available so can cause significant problems. Without proof of proper CA auto insurance, you can not register a new vehicle or even renew an existing one. Also, if you are caught without the necessary proof, either by the Department of Motor Vehicles or a police officer, then your registration may be suspended until you are able to provide proof. Losing the right to drive until you resolve this can really be a hardship.
You know now how important it is to have auto insurance in CA. Minimum liability coverage might sound like a lot of money, but many insurance companies currently offer minimum coverage at affordable rates. If you do a little bit of research, you can get insured for a reasonable price - and if you have a good driving record, that price will go down. Ultimately, it’s much safer, and much cheaper, to abide by the law and get car insurance. If you get in an accident, you’ll save money, and if you drive safely, you’ll be a law-abiding citizen.
